Garlic for the gladiators of the everydays

Posted by Dana on August 12, 2007

When Roman gladiators entered the arena, they usually saluted the Roman emperor with a loud “ave Ceasar”, but some of them could hardly be heard. Why? Because they were chewing garlic. Namely, they were convinced that it boosts fighting abilities. How did they know this? Of course they had learned it from the Greek. Greek athletes and wrestlers never failed to eat some cloves before great tests of strength to gain courage and strength. They appreciated the beneficial physiological effects of garlic on the recommendation of not else but their contemporary expert, Hippocrates. Man of today is also exposed to everyday battles. And not less is at stake, only the ground, tools and tactics have changed. Those who would like to win should not forget about garlic!

Garlic was a widely used popular remedy almost all over the world. They believed that it cold heal cold, sore throat, asthma, pulmonary consumption, dysentery, infections, jaundice, insanity, rheumatic complaints and skin problems as well. Generally they attributed roborant and life prolonging effects to it.

During the two World Wars military surgeons treated the wounded with it; Pasteur praised its antibacterial properties. However in the past three decades the active agents of garlic have been appreciated even more.

  • Studies prove that routine consumption of garlic has a manifold beneficial effect on cardiovascular system.
  • It has also proved to be effective in the prevention of arteriosclerosis.
  • It is a blood vessel dilator and anti-hypertensive, which is especially spectacular in the blood vessels far from the heart, e.g. in the narrow blood vessels of the eyes, legs and brain. Their active substances can partially block the functioning of the proteins taking part in blood coagulation, indirectly preventing the formation of blood clots.
  • According to a study published in the scientific review of the American cardiologists, garlic extracts is able to block the formation of blood clots in the coronaries of the heart as well. By certain active agents it slows down increased heart rate, relaxes the spasm of the coronaries, and consequently enhances myocardial blood supply and cardiac performance.

The healing power of garlic is due to its approximately 100 sulphur containing compounds. When cloves are crushed, for example by chewing, the compound alliin transforms into allicin, which functions as a natural antibiotic. The process is accompanied by the well-known, characteristic smell.

  • Garlic regenerates the hardened blood vessel wall of the intestinal mesentery, stopping abdominal flatulence by doing so.
  • It is effective in lowering cholesterol levels as well.
  • Studies prove that it affects liver function by letting less cholesterol into the blood.
  • According to an article published in the Journal of the National Institute, gastric cancer occurs less frequently in people who routinely consume garlic, moreover, the risk of colon cancer decreases as well.
  • As justified by European studies, garlic helps the elimination of lead and other heavy metals from the body.
  •  The blood-purifying, detoxifying effects of the herb is very useful for those living in the polluted environment of big cities.
  • The effectiveness of garlic against microorganism is worth mentioning as well. It destroys worms, fungi and herpes virus as well.
  • Regulates heart function
  • Enhances the coronary functions and myocardial blood supply, which affects beneficially cardiac functions
  • Prevents arteriosclerosis
  • Reduces harmful (LDL) cholesterol levels, while increasing protective cholesterol (DDL) levels
  • Reduces the development of blood clots in blood vessels
  • Anti-hypertensive
  • Increases general resistance of the body
  • Reduces the risk of certain malignant tumors (gastric and colon cancer), because the active agents of garlic have antioxidant effects, neutralize free radicals, preventing cell damage by this.
  • Aids in preventing digestive and metabolic disorders
  • By the effects of methyl alyl trisulphide it has vasodilator and anti-hypertensive properties
  • Prevents infections caused by bacteria, viruses (herpes), fungi (candida) and parasites (wireworms)

Regenerates epidermis and promotes healing of wounds In Central-Eastern Europe the 60% of the population is at risk of cardiovascular diseases. Considering this, one 5 gram clove of garlic, or some kind of garlic extract should be consumed daily. The only known bad quality of garlic is its terrible odor. It is able to kill love in the bud, if someone eats garlic before a date. Therefore people loving company should be careful with garlic or choose a dietary supplement containing the active agents of it – for example in capsules – but without its “essence of perfume”.

To suppress the odor of garlic we should consume parsley, which is widely used in popular medicine as we.

  • It stimulates kidney functions,
  • Helps flushing kidney stones,
  • Cures cystitis.
  • It is a stomachic and appetizer,
  • Is also used for its antispasmodic, expectorant and calming effects,
  • Furthermore is good against infections.

Royal jelly not only for queens!

Posted by Dana on August 12, 2007

When we start believing that almost every secret has already been unraveled by science, we come across with a simple but magical thing as royal jelly, and suddenly we realize that we hardly know anything.

What is the secret of the creamlike substance consisting of the mixture of the glandular secretion of 4-12 days old bees and honey? Why the queen bee fed with royal jelly grows one and a half time bigger than other bees, and how can she attain the age of Methuselah, living as long as for 4-6 years, opposed to the life span of workers of 6 weeks? Why experimental bees and other insects fed with royal jelly live by 30-200% longer than their mates, and why egg yield of experimental hens increases, if they are given royal jelly?

The excellent effect of royal jelly has already been known by Egyptians, ancient Romans and American natives. Modern man started using beeswax, pollen, propolis and royal jelly as well. In order to get acquainted with its effect mechanism, scientists analyzed its ingredients, which are the following:

  • 12-15 % sugar, 5-6 % lipid, 12-13 % proteins, which in 17-20% consist of amino acids.
  • All the amino acids and triptophan essential for the body to ensure restful sleep.
  • Gelatin substance, in which collagen, a protein that can be found in skin, cartilages, bones, teeth, muscles, organs is produced. It is also called the preserver of youth, and silky, youthful skin as well.
  • Vitamins A, C, and E are vitamins having antioxidant effects. They strengthen immune system, neutralize free radicals, and promote the assimilation of vitamin D, which is important for the absorption of calcium.
  • From among the vitamin B group it contains vitamins B1, B2, B6 and B12 – they are essential for blood formation, as well as DNA-RNA synthesis and the metabolic processes of the body.
  • Panthotenic acid, which is well known for its anti stress effects.
  • From among minerals calcium, iron, copper, phosphorus, potassium, silicon and sulphur.
  • Nucleic acids, DNA, RNA, nine important hormones, some enzymes.
  • The most significant natural acetylcholine contents; this tissue hormone plays an important role in transmitting nervous impetus of cerebral nerve-ending to other nerve fibers. For example those suffering from Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease have very low acetylcholine levels in the brain.
  • Abundant quantity of gamma-globulin, whose beneficial effect against infection is well known.

The beneficial effects of royal jelly on the body partly can be explained by the wide variety of its ingredients. But the essence probably lies not in the details, but in its complexity, the proportion and interaction of the ingredients. That is why royal jelly:

  • Slows delays aging process, senility, and enhances memory.
  • It boosts the performance, freshness, physical strength of the body, reduces fatigue.
  • It helps prevent viral and bacterial infections.
  • Offers protection against fungal diseases, strengthens immunity in general.
  • Reduces nervousness and anxiety, has a favorable effect on mental and nervous problems.
  • It beautifies the skin and the hair.
  • Beneficial in cardiovascular problems as well as in Burger’s disease.
  • Stimulates the growth of new cells, accelerates the healing of wounds and bone injuries.
  • Has an anti-inflammatory effect, promotes the healing of rheumatic arthritis.
  • Boosts sexual activity, helps curing male and female infertility.
  • It promotes growth.
  • Beneficial for the eyes.
  • Helps fight fatigue.
  • Has a favorable effect on diabetic patients, as well as on people suffering from degenerative disease.
  • Its anti tumor effects are being studied.

Royal jelly is a special substance of nature’s pharmacy. Its effect on human body is similar to that on bees. It promotes the growth of the body in development, increases the expectable life span of adults. It affects not only the bodily functions, but also mental abilities and conditions. By ameliorating cell functions it affects each and every life function, from the regeneration of the body to degenerative diseases, general well being and sexual activity. Royal jelly is a real panacea – not only for queens!

Attention!

  • The product is not recommended for those who are sensitive to pollens.
  • Children can use it only after consulting a doctor.
  • As royal jelly is composed of pollen, honey and the glandular secretion of worker bees, those suffering from pollen allergy should start taking it carefully. If allergic reactions develop, its consumption should be stopped at once.
  • Its effectiveness is enhanced if taken with honey.
  • It should be kept in a cool place, as it breaks down easily in warmth.

Free antibiotics at the grocery store

Posted by Dana on August 12, 2007

by Mike Adams

The latest absurdity in Big Pharma America: Free antibiotics at the grocery store!

Publix grocery stores have announced a plan to give away free antibiotics to everyone! I’m not making this up: Any person with a prescription can now walk into a Publix store anywhere in the United States and get that prescription filled for free. The free offer covers amoxicillin, cephalexin, penicillin VK, erythromycin, ampicillin, sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim, and ciprofoxacin.

This is fascinating marketing ploy to get more customers, but it makes me wonder why they didn’t go all the way and simultaneously give out free anti-diarrhea medication to counter the effects of the antibiotics. And why won’t Publix give out free probiotics? Wouldn’t it be better to help people support healthy intestinal flora rather than handing out chemicals that destroy it?

I wonder where this whole trend is going. If Publix is giving away free antibiotics now, perhaps some other grocery chain will try to up the ante and give away free antidepressant drugs. Then another group will offer free diabetes meds with every purchase of donuts, or free anti-cholesterol drugs with your purchase of a fried cheese dinner. Before long, grocery stores will be filled with mind-numbed pharma zombies, lined up at the pharmacy with a bag of junk food in one hand and a prescription in the other.

That Publix would actually think it’s a great idea to give away antibiotics for free is yet another astonishing a sign of the times in a world that seems to have sold its soul to the drug companies. This giveaway is their big P.R. stunt, and they actually think they’re helping everyone by doing it! But I can think of a thousand things better to give away than antibiotics. How about free cod liver oil supplements for children? What about free prenatal vitamins? Or just free hugs? The world needs more free hugs.

Noni, the queen of fruits

Posted by Dana on August 12, 2007

Its exterior indescribable, its composition is unsurpassable, its effect is unrivalled! On the outer envelope of the fruit there are small warts like on the nose of the iron-nosed witch in the tale of Jack and Jill. It has disgusting colors ranging from green through yellow to almost-white. When ripe, it definitely stinks. Then why exactly She is the queen of fruits? Because it has special active agents like no other vegetable or fruit in the World.

This evergreen is indigenous to Polynesia, Malaysia, Australia as well as South-Eastern Asia. It is called Noni on Hawaii, but in scientific circles it is referred to as Morinda Citrifolia. It has been used by Hawaiian tribal healers for 2000 year against fever, inflammation, diarrhea, constipation, animal and insect bites and many other diseases. According to scientists, even after 400 years of research, some secrets of the fruit still remain unraveled, and it is possible that some of its beneficial effects are still unknown. American physicians say it may be the cure for as much as 100 kinds of diseases!

It contains 18 amino acids, including the essential ones. Among its active agents we can find – to mention but a few – the substances called Morindone, Morindine, Acubin, L.Asperuloside, Alazarin, Capron, Capryl acid, Scopoletin and Damnacanthal. Its most famous active agent is Proxeronine, which is undispensable for the synthesis of the alkaloid called Xeronine. However this substance is present in the liver, but only in insignificant amounts. Cells reach Proxeronine via blood flow, out of which they produce Xeronine on the spot. The significance of the process could be hardly overestimated, as this substance participates in regulating the permeability of cell walls, hereby influences every cell function, and among others affects beneficially the absorption of nutrients. In case proxeronine is available in adequate amounts, cells are able to regenerate. This may be one of the explanations why Noni is so efficient in fighting so many diseases. Noni contains significant amounts of Proxeronine, which is vital in case anything attacks the body, as the reserves of the liver are limited. By Xeronine produced in the cells Noni offers an indirect protection against bacteria and fungi. Its active agent Scopoletin increases melatonin and serotonin production in the body.

These diminish mood swings, regulate circadian rhythm, and help us to have a restful sleep. It has antidepressant effects, which is achieved by controlling endorphin production. It is an incredibly effective pain killer. It may reach the 75% of the effectiveness of morphine, without side effects, addiction and dependence. The extract of the fruit enhances nitrogen-oxide production. Combined with the antispasmodic effects of the above mentioned Scopoletin, it reduces the risk of the formation of blood clots, decreasing the chance of stroke (cerebral catastrophy) and infarction. Moreover nitrogen promotes intestinal functions, prevents the aggregation of thrombocites, boosts immune cell functions and insulin production, protects against diabetes, and is also necessary for the cerebral processes influencing behavior. By its active agent called Damnacanthal Noni also regulates the processes of cell division, blocking tumor development by doing so. With the support of phagocytes and lymphocytes it strengthens immune system, stimulates the production of T-killer cells playing a leading role in fighting diseases. The pulpified version of the fruit has the highest concentration of the above mentioned active agents. The processing is carried out even today according to the ancient maturation and fermentation technology. This process enhances the potential of the active components, and makes unnecessary the use of artificial preservatives.

The 100% juice of Noni has a long shelf life even without them. The juice can be consumed in itself or mixed with other fruit juice. It exerts a permanent effect after at least three months of taking. The ugly exterior of Noni conceals peerless inner values. Its active agent Proxeronine is unique among herbs, so the consumption of Noni, thanks to its special components, cannot be replaced with anything else. Due to its favorable synergic action its effects can be multiplied if combined with other dietary supplements.
