Don’t flow away!

A cardinal point of every slimming diet is that calorie restriction leads to deficiency conditions which may result in the worsening of physical performance and general condition of the body. Calorie restriction is sometimes accompanied by unbearable hunger, which results from reduced blood sugar levels and being underfed. When essential amino acid levels decrease, our body blows the alarm because it needs them for every physiological function.

When the level of amino acid drops, our body breaks down proteins from for example the muscles, and regroups their essential amino acid contents to vital processes, for example to the immune system. On the long run it leads to the reduction of muscles as well as loss of the flexibility of skin, which is not among the goals of the slimming diet. The solutions of the problem are complex nutrients of slimming effects which are able to reduce acute hunger by slowing down the drop of blood sugar levels and muscle reduction by substituting essential amino acids, at the same time helping the breakdown of excess fat. Moreover low calorie content is also a requisite.

New generation, complex slimming supplements are liquid concentrates.

  • They ensure optimal amounts of biologically active nutrients for the sake of preserving health even during the slimming diet.
  • They curb appetite, help detoxifying action of liver, and affect beneficially digestion and digestive system.
  • They contain an easily utilizable, predigested protein, which would not burden the digestive system.
  • They substitute necessary essential amino acids and slow down the development of hunger.

For the achievement of optimal muscle/fat ratio and effective breakdown of fats they contain substances of muscle building, blood sugar sparing and/or proven fat burning effects. These are usually minerals or herbal extracts. Some minerals have a key role in slimming diet and muscle building:

  • Manganese – activates enzymes, participates in bone formation and normalizes blood sugar levels. Probably it takes part in the function of hormone producing cells of pancreas, which ensures carbohydrate regulating insulin and glucagon hormone levels which is important from the point of view of muscle/fat ratio. Studies carried out with athletes prove that excessive blood sugar level reduction can be warded off by regular manganese supplementation, as it reduces appetite.
  • Chromium – the most important mineral factor of blood sugar level regulation and fat breakdown. Thousands of studies prove that have been carried out on athletes and obese people, diabetic and arteriosclerotic patients that chromium is vital for the function of insulin, hereby for muscle building as well as for fat breakdown processes.
  • Vanadium – it has been proven to have muscle building and body fat reducing effects in sports-dietetic studies. By influencing insulin it affects muscle development and optimizes blood sugar levels. It supports bone formation and lowers cholesterol levels.

Some herbs have also unquestionable role in the slimming process:

  • Garcinia extract – a herb much liked by naturopaths; it is a popular anti-obesity plant, an effective fat burner. Its active agent blocks he building up of fats by carbohydrates and proteins, partly because this enzymes offers the raw material for the fat producing enzyme. It reduces the storing capacity of fat cells and curbs appetite.
  • Green tea extract – green tea increases fat breakdown, besides it is one of the most effective antioxidant. It protects the body against the free radicals produced in excessive amounts in the course of the slimming diet.
  • The evening primrose extract contains an essential fatty acid. Essential fatty acids reduce cholesterol levels and optimize muscle/fat ratio. They stabilize the membrane of muscle cells.
  • Grapefruit seed extract – grapefruit seed extract boosts metabolism and hereby fat burning. It has a significant antibiotic effect, so it strengthens the immune system of the dieter.
  • Aloe gel – The special polysaccharides in the stem and leaves of aloe lily block the depositing of fats. In this aloin having mild laxative effects may also play a role.

Really up-to-date slimming diet promoting preparations exert a complex effect. They are able to reduce body mass by reducing fat reserves instead of muscle mass. A great advantage of the formula that even those can swallow it easily who do not like tablets and its absorption also starts earlier.

Warnings, contraindications, side effects:

  • The formula has no known side effects in the recommended dose, but individual sensitivity to its active agent may occur.
  • The formula works with maximal effectiveness only if combined with regular exercising.
  • Persons suffering in chronic diseases requiring constant medical supervision should in any case consult their doctor before they start taking the formula.

Calcium and magnesium – the skeleton of the bones

Posted by Dana on August 7, 2007

Osteoporosis is an insidious disease. In most cases the first sign of it is a serious bone facture, and it is too late then. The already developed osteoporosis is irreversible; it can be stopped at most. Almost the 10% of the population worldwide suffer from osteoporosis. According to data the number of deceased in consequence of fracture of the femoral neck, pelvis and vertebra is 20 times more than it would be justified by the age of those affected.

Human skeleton is composed of 206 bones. Their basic task is to create a solid skeleton for the body. They protect certain organs, as for example skull protects brain, backbone spinal cord, the bones of chest heart and lungs. Bones are made up in 65% inorganic, and 35% organic substances. The composition of ingredients in bone tissue is not constant, but is continuosly reconstructed. One part of the bone cells takes part in construction, while others in breakdown. This equilibrium is influenced by many factors. Age, sex, diet, lifestyle all play a part in it. In younger people bone construction, while in elderly bone breakdown predominates.

In the skeleton of women bone breakdown increases. The uptake of mineral salts from diet, primarily calcium may be bone strengthening factors. However sedentary lifestyle speeds up bone breakdown. If bone breakdown predominates, the resistance of bones decreases, and bone fracture can happen even to smaller impulses. However osteoporosis threatens primarily the elderly, prevention should be started already in young adults. Moreover, in contrast with public belief, not only in women.

Hormonal, dietary, factors affecting bone metabolism affect men the same, but due to their stronger and “thicker” bone mass is rarer, but regarding the consequences is often more serious. In 1990 1, 7 millions of hip fractures have been registered, half million of them have affected men. Death rate was higher in case of men! So it is very important to prevent this disease with adequate lifestyle, modern diet and dietary supplements of natural base.

Regular exercise is very important for bones. By enhancing the blood supply of bone mass it promotes bone construction. Bones kept in motion, similarly to muscles, grow stronger by training. Regular walking, swimming or other physical activity is very important. Bones require sunshine as well. The absorption of calcium from intestines is regulated by vitamin D. Normally it can be ensured by sunbathing. By adequate amounts – but not excessive! – sunbathing, vitamin D reserves can be charged for the whole year. In case it is not possible, we should supplement vitamin D. A serious risk factor is calcium deficient diet, which results in permanent drop of blood calcium levels. However physiological functions, blood clotting, muscle contraction, function of nerves require a constant, 2.5 mmol/l calcium level. If it is not so, body starts breaking down bones to cover its calcium demands from them. On the long run this leads osteoporosis and – seemingly contradictorily – due to the inadequate form of calcium originating from bones, leads to calcification. In this respect women are more at risk.

As a result of hormonal changes the process of bone breakdown speeds up, if body cannot gain sufficient amounts of minerals, first of all calcium from food. Usual dietary habits generally would not contain enough calcium, therefore its supplementation is recommended for everyone of every age. Otherwise the development of osteoporosis in elderly age is almost certain.

The daily demand of an adult is approximately 1000 mg. If there are signs of osteoporosis, the recommended dose is 1500 mg per day. Calcium metabolism is a complex and sensitive process. To utilize well the increased calcium amounts applied for prevention, and to avoid calcification or excessive calcium effects in metabolic processes, dosage should be kept under control. The most suitable substance for this purpose is magnesium, the natural physiological regulator of calcium. In lack of it calcium may deposit where it should not, because, in lack of magnesium, cells of soft parts are able to take up too much calcium. Unlike bone cells, which on the other hand lose too much calcium, if magnesium is not available in sufficient amounts.

Besides magnesium prevents increased magnesium intake to cause damages to nervous system and heart rate. It is not by chance that modern anti-osteoporosis formulas, besides calcium in organic bound, contain magnesium in organic bound as well in 2:1 proportion. The effect of the formulas can be further enhanced by taking vitamin C.

Warnings, contraindications, side effects:

  • The formula has no known side effects in the recommended dose, but individual sensitivity to its active agent may occur.
  • Persons suffering in chronic diseases requiring constant medical supervision should in any case consult their doctor before they start taking the formula.
  • It should be taken half an hour before meals.
